Professor Åslaug Ommundsen from the University of Bergen will present the ERC-funded CODECO project, which explores how medieval books and literary networks shaped Europe. With approximately 50,000 medieval book fragments in Nordic archives and libraries, the project integrates palaeography, literature, history, and bio-codicology to uncover the role of Scandinavia in intellectual networks. The seminar will highlight the challenges of book production in resource-limited regions and showcase key findings about medieval literary connections and book fragments.
Professor Åslaug Ommundsen is an expert in Medieval Latin philology and a leading member of the University of Bergen's Medieval Research Cluster.
